When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID and optionally your name and email.

Student Data

You may enter student information including names, gender, and ability levels. This data is stored securely and is only accessible to you and any workspace members you explicitly invite.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage analytics including pages visited, features used, and app performance data to improve the Service.

Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with enterprise-grade security. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management and Firestore for data storage with strict security rules.

  • Service providers: Firebase (hosting/database), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Mailgun (transactional emails), Gleap (feedback)
  • Workspace members: If you invite colleagues to your workspace, they can view your class groups and team data
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

6. Student Data Protection

We take the protection of student data seriously. Student information is:

  • Only accessible to the account owner and explicitly invited workspace members
  • Never used for advertising or marketing purposes
  • Never shared with or sold to third parties
  • Deleted when you delete your account or remove the data

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data. We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.

9. Children's Privacy

InstaGroups is designed for use by educators. Student data entered by teachers is managed under the teacher's responsibility and applicable school data protection policies. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
